I find it rather odd that nobody has posted much about the XBOX. Recently I bought one on e(vil)Bay and have now commenced an xbox collection, so far I have amassed the following games for it.........
Ford Mustang
SCAR
Project Gotham
NFS Underground 1 & 2
Rallisport 1 & 2 .................................(thnx for the suggestion IKE! )
V8 Supercars 1 & 2
Wolfenstein-Tides of War
GTA 1 & 3
Halo 1 & 2
NFS Most Wanted
Splinter Cell
Sonic Mega Collection PLUS
Pacman World 3
Forza Motorsport
Doom 3
As you may have noticed I like the car simulations most of all but my question is,"What are some other good games on this platform?" or is it a case of, there arent any/many others worth trying..?

Microsoft consoles are one breed that I have decided not to collect at all. If I was into x-box I would grab Jet set radio future, the Panzer Dragoon title @ the 'dead or alive series'. I played Fable on a friends x-box for a little while, it looked like an awesome game and has got great reviews. |

he he,
I guess im one of those people who just doesnt like them because of who makes them!
Microsoft came out of nowhere with the console game industry and just seemed to take over. They just don't have the 'heart' that other companies had (in my opinion) |

Okay well I will just go and hide my head in shame somewhere, I must admit, for years I didnt like them because of who made them but as I got to play a game or two on my kids oboxs, I grew fond of one or two games, but morally speaking I have to agree, however the bottom line for me is that I have one,I like it, and I have some nice games to pass the time away on it. (hey Im NOT PROUD)
PS-I just got a light gun for it, to go with my 2 wireless controllers, Im invincible......

I love light gun games and if I owned a light gun and an X-box, would be chasing up House of the Dead III. |

thanx Grapes of Gorf, I will keep an eye out for that title, any other light gun games on xbox that may be worth playing...?
Kinda reminds me of that duck shoot game on the nintendo 2 decades ago as that was the 1st light gun game I ever played.

No need to hide your head in shame tomz! we still like you inspite of your flaws
Everyone likes different things which is fair enough, can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone liked exactly the same things... |

C'mon peoples!!!! the Xbox is a master piece of machinery!! when the baby is chipped it's a emulation monster. It emulates SMS, Megadrive, Sega CD, Nes, Snes, N64, C64, Amiga, Atari ST, Dos, Turbo Grafx CD, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Mame, Atari 2600 100% and they can all be played on your TV. I've also gotten Ps1 games runing at full speed (I finished Castlevania SOTN on it). I could go on but Microsoft did build a decent machine and they deserve every bit of credit for it. Far better than the PS2 for sure. Also it can turned into a Media Centre!!! what else could you ask for from one piece plastic.
@ TOMZ, told ya Rallisport 2 Rocks and no House of the Dead 3 is the only gun game on the system. _________________ Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us |

Okay and that was my experience with my Xbox,I now use it to play DVDs mostly although sometimes I get into GTA or V8 Supercars but apart from those 2 games its just a DVD player, one of 4 in my home.
Of all my consoles this one has had the shortest life as far as interest or use.............wierd ? or NOT!

I have to admit, I'd probably have about 5mins clocked up in total with playing an xbox! I have barely touched one.
With the comment you made, do you find that recent games have the lastability like the simple games of the 80's?
the graphics maybe fantastic but is the gameplay good also? |

-@ike-TRUE a chipped XBOX is a very different machine (you R so right!)
-@retrobrad-I must confess I am just about to ritire my XBOX to a DVD playing machine to make room for my 2nd PC an AMD P4 equivalent,it has 2 Gig of ram. But the XBOX has outlived itself. I only ever really enjoyed the car simulation games and GTAs games, with tha later it was so nice being able to get the tank in SAN ANDREAS as that ment it would take a long time to get killed, meaning you could enjoy blowing up many things before they got you........
As for Rallysports or V8 Supercars they are very good and fairly absorbing, but then it all depends on your own tastes. For me, beating Marcos Ambrose was adequate ............oh shucks.........

Do you have one of those steering wheels to play the racing games?
I have a friend in the states who is into elcetronics (like myself) and has built a sit in cockpit that you can use for racing games and plane games etc...
It actually moves around as you move in the game. |
